Well, Labor Day Weekend has officially come and gone for Poco Risco's Lakefront Log Home Rentals. I think it was a pretty successful weekend! We had all of our homes full and everyone we spoke to seems to have had a GREAT time! We wish everyone safe travels home on this holiday weekend!

Don't forget, there is still plenty of warm weather and fun happening at the Lake of the Ozarks - so if you have a couple of free days from work and activities, come look us up! We would LOVE the opportunity to accommodate you!

Live like a LOCAL!

On August 24th (which is a Saturday) there will be a 27 Acre Yard Sale! This event will be held from 8am until 2pm a the Laurie Fairgrounds in Laurie, MO.

Also on August 24th the Dogwood Golf Course will be holding is 43rd annual 2-man scramble. This is the biggest event of the year for the Dogwood Golf Course and the event pays out over $30,000 in prizes! This course is located down KK in Osage Beach which is just a short drive from the Poco Risco's Lakefront Log Home Rentals. We actually have ONE home left available from August 24th through the 30th, so if you do not already have accommodation for this event, please contact us. We would LOVE the opportunity to accommodate you!

Lake of the Ozarks Festival of the Arts is being held from August 30th through September 1st. This is a family oriented event that show cases different styles of art for sale from different Missouri Artists. There will also be an auction held at

This year will be the 25th anniversary of the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout event! It is the largest (unsanctioned) race in the ENTIRE United States! Speeds have hit as high as 208 mph.

The Shootout consists of 10 full days of events centered around this massive race. It all begins August 16th and runs through August 25th.

This is a big and wonderful charity event that has raised over $300,000 in the past 5 years alone! It is a MUST SEE event that you won't want to miss!

Here is another picture of the Bridal Cave trail. You can see how large and beautiful this stone fireplace is!

Kevin and I came across a really cool trail in the Bridal Cave Park area. We knew about Bridal Cave but didn't know they had a hiking trail! What an interesting find! The trail is full of beautiful bluff rocks and there were several neat things to see along the trail. It was fairly short (maybe 2-3 miles round trip) and very easy to walk (not many stairs). Would definitely recommend doing this trail if you are in the area!

Had a few minutes to relax and unwind after cleaning up the Sunset View for the next guests to arrive. So me and my grandson Trystan took a few minutes to enjoy the dock and watch the fish jump in the lake. I think he enjoyed it as much as I did!

The weather has been wonderful here at Poco Risco's Lakefront Log Home Rentals at the Lake of the Ozarks the past few days. After all the rain we have been getting (in June of all times) it has been nice to enjoy the sunshine!

Caught a pretty good crappie off the dock of the Sunset View Log Home just a few weeks ago. Heard from our neighbor that they are still biting really good! I love crappie season because I really don't have the patience to sit and wait for a bite to come along. During crappie season you just put your line out about 4 or 5 feet and dip your bait (I use little sparkly tube jigs) in the water - wait for about 30 seconds and here comes a bite! That is MY kind of fishing!

Memorial Day weekend is still available in the Pelican Point Log Home (Sunset View has already been booked - and we are totally booked up for this weekend) if anyone would like to come out and try their hand at fishing! I hope this great weather we are having right now is going to stick around for the rest of the season!
